All artists are invited to submit their work to the Prismatter pop-up gallery. Special consideration will be given to those who are local to NWA.
Rules of the road:
This art is going to be in public spaces, and there may be children around. At this time, we do not have the resources to allow for 18+ shows. We ask that you keep all art submissions “safe for work” so no nudity, profanity or excessive gore. This has less to do with the sensibilities of the curators and more to do with fostering a positive relationship with the public parks. We may do an 18+ show in the future if an appropriate venue for it becomes available.
Be aware that this gallery is not a traditional one, with four walls that you can easily hang large paintings from. Instead, we hang our work between trees using string and rope. Due to the nature of the setting, we highly recommend displaying replications or prints of the work. We also encourage the use of cardboard backing and matting your work, but this is not a requirement to show your work. We are not liable or responsible for damage to the art pieces.
If you would like to bring your own easel/s to show larger pieces, that is allowed as well. Be aware that large canvases tend to act like sails in the wind, and will need a substantial easel to anchor them down. We recommend that you test out your setup outdoors in the wind prior to the show if you are unsure about this.
We do NOT allow the use of AI generated content.
Respect the parks and “Leave no trace.” Respect the people around you. No alcohol or drugs allowed in the parks.
Because we do not have a license to sell art, we do not take any commission on any artwork sales, and all sales must be conducted outside the venue/s. Prismatter does not collect payments for any artwork. Artists are always allowed to do self promotion in the form of business cards and social media.
This is a free event, and you are welcome and encouraged to invite your friends and family to join in. It costs nothing to submit your work.
